As another year draws to a close, we are filled with pride and gratitude for the journey we’ve shared with our dedicated students, staff, and donors.
Last week marked a series of significant events, particularly our graduation ceremony—a celebration of hard work, determination, and the promise of brighter futures.
Our students’ families joined us on Tuesday, beaming with pride as diplomas were awarded in front of representatives of the government, including:
- H.E. Ly Sary, Deputy Governor and High Representative of H.E. Prak Sophoan, Governor of Siem Reap Province;
- H.E. Dr. Hing Sideth, Delegate of Government and Director General of DGTVET at the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training;
- H.E. Van Sereiroth, Under Secretary of State at the Ministry of Tourism and High Representative of H.E. Sok Soken, Minister of Tourism.
The students received three diplomas in total: from the Ministry of Labour, from the Ministry of Tourism (recognized by ASEAN), and one from Agrisud International to acknowledge their skills in sustainable agriculture.
The day wasn’t just about recognizing academic achievements, but also the personal growth and resilience shown by each graduate throughout their time with us.
The whole school also came together one final time to prepare for next year and unwind during our traditional end-of-the-year trip. A well-deserved moment of relaxation and camaraderie after months of intensive training, this trip also reinforced the bonds forged during their time at our school.
The school is now officially closed, and our students are now seeking employment with the help of our social workers. Every year, all our students find jobs within 4 to 6 weeks of graduation thanks to Sala Baï’s recognition in the hotel industry and the great motivation of our students. Already, over 60 of them are employed by some of the best hotels and restaurants in Cambodia.
